dollchitchat/smilie_help.gif I need some advice! dollchitchat/Christo_pull_hair.gif
I went and ironed Christians favorite top with the big red fire-engine on the front and the red felt melted on the iron and the top leaving red everywhere.
I got it off the iron but how do i get it off the rest of the top?
All advice appreciated.

Oh sweetie! I feel for you!
I have no idea, but shall I sit with you awhile, while we wait for a grown-up with some insight?
I did a similar thing last week with all the throws from the lounge. Just bunged them in the washer ~ madness! One of them was black & dry clean only ~ blocked the machine & there is black dust all over the house now! dollchitchat/Christo_pull_hair.gif

I did the baby blankets Lainey and thankfully no problems there.Even washed and ironed all the vests and onesies but this top is a menace. dollchitchat/4.gif dollchitchat/32.gif

How frustrating for you Liz dollchitchat/Christo_pull_hair.gif
I'm afraid I have no advice - just sympathy!
I am the worlds worst for ironing - hardly ever do it, cos I hate it. I know what I would do...if it is ruined, use it as a rag and find a new best top. Not very cost effective, I know!
Well done for getting it off the iron and not damaging anything else.
Better get back to the himmie comp dollchitchat/141.gif

Christian would never forgive me if i used it as a rag. dollchitchat/AddEmoticons07628.gif
Poor boy has to wear his second favorite top with his new trousers now.

Diane- 09-01-2008
I think you'll have to treat him to a new one Liz.
I always iron things inside out if they've got anything like that on after several accidents and it was always their favourite one I ruined.

Liz- 09-01-2008
This was the very first top he got and i shouldn't have been so careless.Normally i sure would iron it inside out.I had a whole line full of tops that needed ironing.
They all ironed fine.

I think you may need to get him a new one, Liz. Sorry. dollchitchat/AddEmoticons07628.gif

But, on the bright side, I'm sure Christian would LOVE a NEW top with a dinosaur on it. Dinosaurs are so much cooler than trains! dollchitchat/AddEmoticons07635.gif

I just re-washed it on a higher setting with a stain remover and no improvement.
Shawnah he does love his crocodile so i'm sure he'd love a dinosaur top to match.

Poor sweetie....sounds like he might need a new one Liz....
Post a pic so we can see the damage....we might be able to help if we see what has happend..
You could always get a plain top for him and a sew on fire engine???

Liz- 09-01-2008
I popped it on the rack to dry at the moment Annette,i'll take a pic tomorrow.
I don't have much in my life but my kids and their things are important to me so when stupid things like this happen i get so annoyed about it. dollchitchat/32.gif
You can bet i wont do this again! dollchitchat/141.gif

Its easy done sweetie...I have done it myself....
I had a lovely 'Classic Winnie The Pooh' all in one...put it in the machine..forgot..and put a dark item of clothing in..(Charlies dino romper which is navy)......ended up cream with blue sploggies on it dollchitchat/Christo_pull_hair.gif ...I was heart broken as it was quite expensive....no stain remover or colour run worked..
I have even had it with a little top with a pumpkin on it(from Asda)...I hand-washed it...the colour from the pumpkin ran into the white of the top...ruined!!!!
Chin up love...if I see one with a little engine on on my journeys..I will get it for you..and your little one.
Love Annette

I'm determined now Christian will have to wear it with his new trousers.
What a day!

OMG, how awful - I feel so sorry for you, but I don't have any other advice than the one Becky did give you already, and that is to buy a new one, and use the ruined one as a rag when Christian is sleeping!!!! dollchitchat/bearthrowingkisses.gif dollchitchat/bearthrowingkisses.gif dollchitchat/bearthrowingkisses.gif

I think, I can't help, Liz, but I feel for you. Once Sophie had a wonderful Minnie Mouse shirt with the soft velevet on it, but it has completely gone after washing a few times only. I will never buy anythng with the felt or velvet sticking on anything. H&M has also the Hello Kitty collection and all the Kitties are printed with this velvet, but I stay away also Sophie would love to have an other shirt with Kitty.

Hugs
Monika
