I've just started to change my Emma (Ember's) clothes and have found part of her fingertip just sitting in the palm of her hand. Its her left hand, and its the middle finger, the one that the thumb tip tucks under (IYKWIM).
The tip was there, like it had just dropped off and there's a split through the vinyl at the base of the nail, hard to describe and impossible to photograph.
Mr. Carol says it looks like a bubble in the vinyl may have just popped - just because!!!.
Anybody got any ideas? I don't know why it happened, I DO know that none of the offspring (they're all older teenagers anyhow) have touched her. I'm devastated, she's got a poorly finger now and although you can't see it unless you look I know its there!.
She did get a little sun the other morning, before I realised and pulled down the blinds. Would this do it?
What should I do? should my dolly babies never ever get any sunlight on them at all? should they be kept away from radiators and drafts? I'm terrified something will happen to the rest of them now!
Any ideas? Please?
Hugs
Carol

I wouldn't have thought a little bit of sun would have been enough to cause that much damage Carol. What a shame that's awful. I wonder if it's a weakness in the vinyl at that point or something? Did you reborn her yourself as I was going to say I wonder if the reborn artist 'nicked' her accidently...and didn't notice? I'm so sorry that this has happened for you. I've not heard of it until now....

Ive never come accross this before, but would a little glue put it back together and fill the split up.
I have heard radiators and sun light are not good for the vinyl dolls, but there again I did take my reborn out on holiday with me, and she didn't suffer at all, thow I tryed to keep her out of the direct sunlight as much as possible.

Its a shame this has happened hope you fix her soon. dollchitchat/AddEmoticons00114.gif

I dont think it is likely to be sunlight. I would think it is a flaw in the vinyl, probably a bubble from the mold that has been weakened by the oven heat & eventually broken down.

I had a similar thing happen in the arm crease of a kit, but that went right through & looked like a tear...I had to replace the limbs, but as it is your own I would just try to glue it or squeeze a tiny bit of clear silicone sealer in and smooth it off with a baby wipe before it is completely dry - that should work.

Thanks girls, I did reborn her myself, so I know nothing awful happened while she was being "born" that might be showing up now.
I have glued everything back and unless you know its there, its not obvious, I'm just a bit upset cos I didn't realise things like this could happen.
Still you live and learn and she's still just as gorgeous as ever.
Hugs
