Hi Sylvia & Elisabeth
I was thinking of ordering the new SK Ilvi dollchitchat/angel_sm029.gif
She would be my first himmie to buy new dollchitchat/141.gif

I am not sure what the best option would be ~
to order her from Annette Himstedt
direct or buy here in the UK? dollchitchat/Love-Bear.gif June

Sylvia is away on her hols right now but if it were me i'd buy from Diane at Magpies mainly to support our one and only UK retailer but also because it's less hassle and i can have a more flexible layaway if i need one.
Saying that you might be more likely to get your Ilvi by doing business with AH direct.
There is no wrong way to go about it.
Elisabeth can give you a better answer.

Thanks for that Liz dollchitchat/pompomgirl.gif
I think Magpies would be the best way to go dollchitchat/141.gif

I agree with Liz. If Magpies cannot get you confirmed, then go to AH direct as it would probably be cheaper than going to a US dealer. But I would go to dealer in UK first as they should cover you if there is a problem, etc. Well said Liz.

Thanks

Elisabeth

I have Lizzie on order from AH, and have recieved my confirmation of order. However, I have now decided that I love the Sommer Kinder more and would like to change my order. Is this possible, or should I resign myself to the fact that I will have to keep Lizzie?

Liz- 08-24-2007
Email AH directly and ask them if you can change your order,i'm sure they will be happy to change it after all they want your money biggrin.gif

I have a big problem.

I have been so strong for so long with Himstedts. Now, I want one. I think I have caught that Himstedt bug that is going around.

What do I do?

bluekangaroo....I think you have 60 days to cancel an order with AH...but maybe a swap is poissible if you ask.

I am thinking after the 60 days is up, that she might say....sorry! some dealers will take out a service fee and put the REST on a different doll....but I am finding more and more dealers will NOT do that as then they are stuck with an older doll that no one wants.

All I can say is it is WORTH a TRY! Write and find out. There is always ebay for Lizzi if necessary. Or trade her for another here?

I hope it works out to your benefit!

Shawnah.......

WOO HOO and COME ON OVER to the dark side baby!

OK, I know I am supposed to say something like Liz said and talk you out of it, right!

Naw....come on and get yourself a new himmie! All that hard work at your job and months of disapponitments...I think you derserve a new girl! Heck....i will help you find/get her. Let me know who it is and PM me later!

Yay!

Hugs to all

Elisabeth

I wanted to ask if you were aware of the possibility of the stands causing problems with the himmies posture????????

This is NO WAY a critism of the lady i purchased my girl from and it is NOT a major problem or i would have contacted her directly, its just that i have never liked or used doll stands for my himmies, i just find them awkward to use, but since my girl returned home i find her posture is wrong, she cannot stand straight at all when stood against a wall, her 'hips' push right forward and her back arched backwards making her appear 2" shorter, just wondered if this is a common fault with the doll stands? And if there is anyway to realign the body somehow so she could stand straight again?????????
I really would appreciate your help biggrin.gif dollchitchat/141.gif dollchitchat/pompomgirl.gif dollchitchat/pompomgirl.gif dollchitchat/pompomgirl.gif THANKYOU SYLVIE AND LIZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yes, that is VERY common. I would try the OTHER stand for her. If she is in a metal stand now, try a sure stand....if she is in a sure stand try a metal one. I had serious issues with my bigger girls (Mugi, Ika and Kumari) as they were boig and heavy and tilted one way or the next. Also try putting one FOOT in front of the other and it may help balance her weight better.

You are NOT alone in this and it drives me nuts too! I use metal stands and dont like the sure stands...but I know I am outnumbered! haha

Good luck...let us know if you find a soluition!

Hugs

Thankyou for your reply Elizabeth biggrin.gif
But really as i said i don't like or want to use the dollstands at all! I prefer to lean my dolls against something for support, and i am fairly confident the dollstand caused the posture issue with this doll.
What i really wanted to know was if there was something i could do to make her stand straighter again without the stand, but also hi lite this issue for ladies who may not be aware of the problem biggrin.gif
Maybe i need to take her apart and investigate dollchitchat/bigthink.gif

Just an idea but how about lying her down and getting her arms and legs in a straight position so re-aligning(sp?) her.Massaging her soft body part so it's shaped better.
Also making her head straight as well.
If she is all in a line then pick her up and see how she balances against a wall.
You might find when she is straightened out and standing better that you can then move her limbs and head in positions you want.
