I was looking at this himmie on ebay Seinika - Annette Himstedt (for some reason i have been bitten by the himmie bug) and i am a little confused on the auction it says "with out gold" what does that mean?
Cindy - Yes it could well be that the leg and hip stuffing has shifted over time, I doubt a stand would have done this unless it had been fixed around the hip. Try as Liz suggests and massage the stuffing to plump it out again. Once you take the legs off it is quite hard to get them tied on tightly again.
Lesley - The 2006 dolls had gold accents painted on their faces but as a lot of people didn't take to this idea Annette Himsetdt agreed to offer a choice of gold or no gold when ordering.
Yes you can wash her hair and use conditioner but don't wet her wig cap, just the length of the hair. I would recommend a towelling and a natural drying process rather than a hairdryer. She should then have straight silky hair!
isnt milli one with a wave added to her hair? Make sure that you are ok with it being perfectly straight when you are done! hee hee as syvia said!
Shes a beauty for sure!

Elisabeth
I've been reading about the problem with staining on the dolls of 2005 and I'm a bit puzzled as to why the Himstedt people haven't replaced the dolls/limbs. I'm surprised to read that any dolls left at dealers will most likely have stained feet - at the price they are why haven't they recalled all the dolls and replaced them?

Himstedt have been very reluctant to change the legs, I know of a few people that have been lucky but they were extreme cases. I think Himstedt have a bury head in sand tendency when things go wrong generally. They did start to seal the leather on the sandals after a time but it was too late for most dolls. I kept my Mumeka in his sandals for a year before changing them and his soles are purple. The only solution was to remove the shoes asap.
When do the pics for the 2008 dolls come out? I wasn't around last year so don't know when you get to see the new girls and boys

Usually around the middle of January onwards is when we all start looking every day!!
Thanks Sylvia for taking up my slack lately. I have been MIA lately, sorry!
As for stained feet....just figure if you are getting a 05 girl from dealer NOW...they will most likely have staining on feet. I recently sold a NEW Kida and didnt want to take off sandles before selling or she would no longer be NEW. I was asked about staining and basically had to say "own risk" on her since I couldnt tell. Apparently she had staining once she arrived to new mom. Just figure on staining at this point as to not be disappointed. Most staining is on bottom of feet and not noticeable while standing anyway.
As for pics coming out....yes...January is the norm. It used to be that the books went out, then the website was updated, then first production doll came out in April. I beleive that 07 was different due to less dolls being made. If I remember right, the webiste went up first (Jan), then the books were received and then Eddie came out in mid Feb. I may be slightly off on that date....but it was earlier than past years.
Cant wait for new line....I still predict a second worlds summit and I KNOW there will be a dream doll in there for me.

I just wanted to ask what himmie hair was made out of, the reason i ask is i wondered if you could use things like hot rollers and hair straighteners on them???? or would it melt.
Hi Lesley, the hair on Himmies is human hair although in the past Annette did use mohair or a mix of hair and mohair. It's safe to say that from 2004 onwards it's human hair though.
It is safe to use heat but as with your own hair go easy because it gets brittle easily. It can be washed (keep the wig cap dry) and conditioned carefully.
Thanks sylvie, i have been looking at himmies for a while and thought i would try and get some more info on them, i wont be able to get one until we have our own place but i can plan and do some research on them so i no i am getting the right one.
Do himmies come in different sizes?
is it better to buy when they are first realeased?
how tall are they?
