I have got to say the BJD facts thread was brilliant what a lot of fantastic info. I do have a question I understand that if you buy a doll with a face up ie make up already on it cant be washed back to the original and repainted. I know from the facts that i must not use accetone to do this so what is the most effective thing to strip a BJD back to the original unpainted state. I have a pre owned BJD on the way with a face up that is lovely but the reborner in me knows that she will want to tweek it LOL. She will be my first ever BJD and so i am still learning all about them.

You will have fun with this! biggrin.gif

Yes, you are right to steer clear of acetone. I used fingernail polish remover without acetone to wipe a faceup and it worked great. It had dark colors, too, and I was very happy with the results. You can use a toothpick to get into the crevices of the lips, etc. Mainly, I used cotton pads, then I switched to q-tips, and finally used the toothpick for the last remaining bits.

Clean it well and let it dry thoroughly before attempting a faceup. And use MSC flat to coat it. Spray a light layer before you get started to give the surface some "tooth" so the pastels and paints stick. Then spray lightly as you work, to preserve what you've done. When finished, give it another coat. Keep the coats airy and light.

Good luck!

Mary

I love the Noella twinset from Dollga - do you know if you can order one doll only or do they come as a set? I've looked at the site but can't decide whether you can or not. Thanks!

Here's the link: http://www.dollga.com/bbs/view.php?id=new_product_en&no=96

Hi Kay, here is the info you were looking for:-

▶ Noella + Noella Sleeping = $1290.00
▶ Noella sleeping set = $700.00
▶ Noella set = $700.00

Just pulled it off the site, you can order them together or just buy one. Sleeping set is the one with the closed eyes and Noella set is the one with the open eyes.
They also come with the outfit, eyes wig and face-up as shown in the pics, this is if you order them both or just one. The shoes aren't included.

Hope that helped ^^

wasabi_project- 10-18-2007
Glad I could help ^^ Lol that is going to be a hard decision! It terrible when you can't decide, I love bjd, himmies and lullabys babies so I can't help you either lol XD
Keep looking and I'm sure you'll find that one which you just have to have which ever doll it might be ^^

Of course in my completely biased opinion I would say go for a bjd lol XD

Girls, what is the difference between SD and MSD?

SD = super dollfie. The term SD refers to 60cm adult dolls as a blanket term. SD10 and the volks younger body with solid torsos
sd13 is volks older slightly more mature bodies with jointed torsos
sd16 is 65cm i think and very mature

While MSD =mini super dollfie, Is the 42cm kids.
