I've got Lullaby Babies' silicone Holly arriving soon, and her previous mummy says she's a bit pale.....is there some paint I can use to enhance her coloring? If so, which type and how do I make sure it won't come off again? Thanks. :)

Annette you can only paint silicone dolls with silicone paint, Holly was our very first silicone, we chose an unusual skin tone for her ( which I still prefer) and she was rather on the pale side, so for the further editions we changed our colour to a peach and added a tad more to the mixture, this has proved to be more popular, so anyone painting a Holly I would recommend thinning the paint down and adding more layers when the first coats are dry,

I have all my silicone babies ( mostly Lullabys) displayed in my new room on the bed about two feet away from the radiator, first of all is that too near the heat sorce even though they never touch. And secoundly sometimes the heating is on for long periods and sometimes not will the change in tep. affect the silicone. I must say that they have been there since Christmas and all seem fine but I just wanted to ask to be sure they are safe. Thanking you. XXXX

Gail you won't have a problem with that I have had mine in full sun, next to radiators in a cold conservatory, no problem at all, just don't let her touch the radiator

Thank you Janet, no they are not that close to the radiator so they can touch. But Im obsesed about how hot or cold they are as you know they do feel warmer when its warmer in the room and I was a little concerned it may effect the silicone in some way. Thank you for that. xxx

I would like to know about Bonnie Chyle´s please, and sorry if already asked.
I´m considering getting one and it worries me that the soft silicone could break. I once contacted a seller who advised me not to get them because one of her Farrah Beth got an arm ripped off (exactly like that) while changing her clothes. Would you recommend me a Chyle? Should I take greater care with her than I do with my Laura Tuzio Ross "Pixie"?
Thanks in advance

I have never known a good quality silicone doll have these problems, are you talking about a solid silicone doll, or a mass produced one, there is a big difference,

There are two types of silicone Platinum and Tin, I cant speak for the tin as I have only ever used platinum. Platinum cure silicone is very robust and can be handled without worry of tearing, As for the manufactured silicones I believe there are additives used in them so couldnt comment on those either

Thanks for your answers. I don´t know what kind of silicone is, only know that Farrah Beth is made of the same as Timothy Patrick but I know this doesn´t help really. Well, if I get mine I´ll be very careful

Silicone vinyl is a mass produced medium, basically it is a vinyl base that is injected with silicone, the Ashton Drake Emily is a silicone vinyl doll. They are cheaper to produce than solid silicone but more expensive than vinyl, hope Im making sense
