i would like to know the best way to remove a wig without damaging the silicone also how do i tone down the lip colour as its very red do i just use acetone as i would with the viynal dolls. many thanks k.xxxx

To remove the wig you get as much off as you can with rubbing, then you will have to sand the glue off its the only way, to remove the colour off a silicone I use my dremel tool with a soft attachement on the end and it comes off beautifully,

Hi ladies!
I have a silly question.
Have the silicon dolls a hollow inside their heads, hands and legs,as like a vinyl kit?
If they haven't, how do you fix their hair when do you root their head?
( I hope you understand me.sorry my english is so bad.)

Thank yuo very much,
Erika

That's not a silly question, its a good one. The silicone heads are solid so there is no way to 'fix' the hair from the inside, however if you root deep enough the silicone itself grips the hair and prevents it falling out. We always shampoo, condition and comb out our hair after its been rooted and none ever comes out!! Carol

Thank you Carol!

Is it too expensive to make silicon from ooak baby?
Can I cast it myself at home or not? Is it too difficult?

Hi Erika, casting a silicone is not as easy as it sounds, it is a job that needs a lot of time to learn, also you need a vacuum chamber to free the silicone of air bubbles, these are quite expensive to buy. On the whole it is probably better to have someone else do it for you, they have spent time learning the best ways to do it and have all the equipment they need. Janet and I like to pride ourselves on doing as much of our doll work ourselves, the sculpting, the bodies, the rooting and the painting but we would not venture into silicone casting. Carol
