I have found, what I think to be a good option for a DCC calendar.

I searched around today and found a place that was much cheaper, but they only offered 13 mth calendars and only one pic per page.....which i dont beleive will fit all of our beautiful photos!

Then I found a spot that sells 12 month and 18 month wall calendars and you can put 1-9 photos per month. We could group them according to seasonal themes and see how many fit on each page. We could put out a call for more photos in a certain catagory. With this idea, it would be assure to get at LEAST one photo per person who wishes to participate and NO ONE would be left out.

This option is a bit pricier, but still way less than a book! Bulk orders are less, so we are looking at approx $10 for a 12 mth calendar and $15 for an 18 mth calendar.

I could start collecting photos next week and then depending on the responce decide which size we would need. I would leave the photo collection open until Nov 1st so that new dolls coming in could get on the calendar. This would still allow time to get it produced and shipped hopefully before the first of the year.

Please give your feedback. The ladies that did the book at HDF said the legality is fine as once we buy a doll it is ours, not a copyright of AH. If you turn in a photo for the calendar, you will be giving the right to print that photo.


If we get enough response from this member only project, then we can go ahead choosing the background, etc. I will post my email addy for pics if we decide to do this. How do you feel about this project?

I think it is a wonderful idea. Are we talking a calender for 2010 though? I doubt there would be time to get it sorted for next year? Deb x

I am hoping that I can have all photos and orders in by early November. This we could have them ordered and shipped in December and then the buyers would get theirs before jan. It would be Jan -Dec of 2009 and then 6 mths of 2010.

For a bulk order they would all ship together. (It isnt like the book where each person buys on their own and pays for shipping). I plan to have them shipped here and I will ship out to all US buyers. Then I would ship (at my expense) to at least TWO people in the UK that volunteer to ship them ( or have a pick up meeting spot) on your end (I would also take care of any out of UK folks). This way we wont have to pay outrageous shipping charges either.

But YES, I plan to have it turned in and shipped to me prior to the new year so that we can enjoy a 2009 calendar.

I will see what kind of response it gets this week and if it is enough....we can go forward starting next week. Start searching for photos that you wish to contribute.

yes, that is correct. IF we get enough response, i will put up the website and we can vote on backgrounds etc etc etc. Right now I just want to see if there will be enough people interested, but it is a reputible photo company.

I was just thinking that there are more European members on DCC and maybe for postage it would end up cheaper here?
Obviously for HH and HDF there are more USA members so would be cheaper in the US.
As you are a member of all 3 why not a Himmie collectors Calendar instead of a DCC one! At least that way it will be guaranteed to sell out

Lovely idea Elisabeth. .as most people re-dress their dolls soo beautifully and style their hair..would be nice to see lots of these types in the calendar??

Bulk rates are for 50 calendars and I think some folks will get more than one....so I doubt we would have an issue selling out. BUT I would like to keep it a DCC members only thing. But we could vote on that as well. I know HDF did the book just for members and this makes it more special.

I belong to 4 forums and so do many others, but this would just be for us. Too many photos would not be beneficial...so just DCC would limit the number per page a bit more and get bigger photos per page. At least this is my thinking.

YES, there are WAY more UK folks here, that is why I plan to send allotments to 2-3 volunteers in UK to send to those folks. I will handle the US and other than UK folks. I dont think it would be a problem at all.

We can vote on things later this week though. I have scouted out companies and this one has alot of creative freedom and an 18 mth option that we may need. Plus is is a reliable company etc.

I forgot to mention that this will be a NON profit project. Nothing will go to me or DCC...it will just be a fun thing for DCC members as a bit of a perk. I will pay for the postage on my side of the pond and also to get them to the UK volunteers (maybe our lovely mods and admin? hee hee). It will work out. If we go with 18 month calendars then it will be approx $15 each.

YES, you may send more than one pic, and it is actually preferred that you do, as we may need more pics in a certain theme and we could pick and choose which would fit in what area of the calendar. There should be plenty of space for probably up to three for each person wishing to participate.

Let me smooth out the logistics and look over the site a bit better, and then we can proceed with pictures and orders etc. These would make great holiday gifts for doll lovers too....but I need to find out how long they will take in production, so hang on for more news.
