dollchitchat/thinking.gif How does it work with posing the Himstedt dolls? I'm talking about the regular dolls, not Club dolls. Some of your photos are so fabulous, they really bring the dolls to life. dollchitchat/AddEmoticons12865.gif

But I thought someone said that standing dolls have to be put on a stand. In the photos I often can't see a stand. Do you disguise them? Or is possible to NOT have a stand?

And when it says "sitting doll" does that just mean it has bent knees? The dolls that are sitting with their legs straight out in front, are they standing dolls? Are they all able to sit? And can they all move their arms and heads?

I'm really confused about this! Please help!

Hey there!

There are basically three types of dolls:

1) Standing dolls (most common): These dolls have straight legs and are jointed at the neck and shoulders. These dolls do require stands and taller dolls are more difficult to stand. My Tilly at 28-inches is easy, because the stand holds her up under her armpits. They can also sit with their legs straight out.

2) Sitting dolls: These dolls have bent knees and can easily sit on a chair. They are also easier to move around, I think. They have the same joints as above but their knees are bent.

3) Jointed dolls: These dolls have joints as above with additional joints at their knees and elbows. The 2007 Summer Dolls (Toki and Shilin only) also have joints at the waist.

Hope that helps! dollchitchat/blinkysendingsmiliesandhugs.gif

It's like having my own personal Himmie Helper! Thanks AGAIN for all your replies. I feel like I'm exploring unchartered territory and it's so lovely to have your guidance.

Where's the Thank You emoticon when you need one?

dollchitchat/blinkysendingsmiliesandhugs.gif Hi I only have one Himmie she is Linchen a jointed toddler. She sits perfectly and poses but will not stand unaded without a proper stand as she has a cloth bottom body and joints on her knees. xxxx

I have quite a number of the himstedt dolls posed standing with no stands........I just position an arm to look like they are holding on to something. (I have run into the problem that a stand doesn't really work with the himstedt dolls.....they seem to flop over) Maybe I'm doing something wrong. dollchitchat/Christo_pull_hair.gif

Hi--

Each Himstedt seems to come with a different amount of stuffing in the bottom, so not all stands work for all dolls.

Ideally, Annette wants the stand to grip the soft portion of the doll, BELOW any vinyl on the stomach/chest.

I only have a few dolls that use stands successfully. Some, I prop up against the wall with their hands on a chair in front of them. This has worked for many.
