Does anyone have a double jointed BJD with double jointed elbows, knees and/or body? What is difference about the way they can be posed? Are they better than the ones that aren't double jointed?

I've ordered some clothes for my new boy from Dollmore and they were sent yesterday. I can't wait until they arrive. He must be feeling a little chilly and a little exposed!

Are you talking about the joints that have a longer piece where the joints bend so that don't see the string when it's fully bent?

Not quite sure what you mean either to be honest Bianca. But for what I;m understanding here's my answer:-
Rath a luts doll has a double shoulder and hip joint, it doesn't ass to his posebility it is to help those joints hold their own weight.
Kuro + Neko dollmore dolls, have a double eblow which allows them to touch their face where as bjds without it can only life their hands so far.
Fahrenheit a latidoll doll had an oval is shaped elbow joint rather then a round one which gives him the same effect the girls have.

Ishtar and Vaz have basic joints so the arms are limited in how far they can go neither can touch their face or that close to it really.

Most legs are the same a normal round joint which gives them basic movement when bending the legs, they can sit their butt on their calves but that leaves a gap in the joint when you look at them from the front. The only acception to this I've found if the Doumya flexi body which has 19 moving parts, from the pics I've seen and what Mary's told me there isn't anything this body can't do. And the Angel of Dream body which has oval elbow and knee joints which makes folding the arms and legs over pn themsleves easier.

For torsos some are 1 piece, some 2 and some 3. The only one I have with a 1 piece torso is Fahrenheit and it can sometimes make it awkward to sit him up straight because his torso only moved from where his legs connect into his body.

The girls and Vaz have a 2 piece torso which is split under the breasts this is great for getting them to sit perfectly straight and it moved slightly to the side aswell which gives them a more realistic poseablilty. It also helps with standing them up straight too.

Rath's toros is also a 2 piece put it is split just above the gut, that also makes it easier for sitting him straight but not quite as much as my msd since the top part of his torso and his head way more then the bottom he has a tendency to fall backward when he's sitting but standing him is fine.

Ishtar's body is a 3 piece split under the breasts and the gut which is by far the best torso out of all mine.

Thank you both, that explained it all perfectly. I was talking about the dolls that are able to touch their faces and sit back on their knees. I think I've gotta get me one of those.

About the bodies Bianca, if you're unsure what a bjd you want can and can't do just ask here I'm sure Mary or myself will know something about the company you're thinking about. Also companies have new and old body types so look out for those options aswell. Most have stopped offering the old type bodies but some still do ^^
