Please can someone tell me if they know where I can get a dressmaking pattern for a fairy dress for a 19" (approx) doll.

Hello Colleen
I was looking too but for a 14 inch. HAving said that I am new to sewing, only learnt how to thread a machine a few months back! - Anyway I did think of just a simple bib shape but then petal shapes attached to a skirt rim, to make up a dress.

I haven't tried that yet, but there are some lovely fairy type dresses on one of our new member's contact web sites, she's called Jennie sew Happy (she has a post in new members. ) Jennie may be able to help direct you to wards some patterns maybe, or you may see a dress in there you like. I know I did, there were several in there that I could have bought or ammended slightly for mine.

If you have more luck than me with patterns, please would you share them with me? Thank you

Hi Gina dollchitchat/pompomgirl.gif thank you so much for your reply. I haven't sewn for a very long time - since my daughters were little but I thought I'd have a go at sewing a fairy dress if I could get the pattern. But your idea of converting a plain dress is a brilliant idea. dollchitchat/1.gif Anyway I'll go and have a look for Jennie now, Ofcourse I'll tell you if I get any luck. dollchitchat/AddEmoticons1093.gif Colleen x

Hi Colleen, just come across a thread on BEars / dolls for sale or trading in Chit Chat, it is by MB Solberg - it is the one half way down the page headed " Sold". If you look at the baby on the thread, the little girl, she has on a lovely outfit, a lot like a fairy gown really, it looks simple to make.

I've almost finished with my fairy doll now, but I am unhappy with her dress. I would love to make something like the dress on this thread for her.

Also Colleen, have you any thoughts about whether to use fairy wings? I used the ones I had already but they are only 5 by 7 and seem a bit small. I think I will have to learn how to use my sewing machine more!
