Hi
I am completely new here so I hope I have posted in the right place and I hope there are lots of people who can help get me started. I have ordered my reborn baby so while I am waiting I am gathering a few bits for her. I have bought a bottle and was wondering what people put in it to make it look like formula. Do you need to seal the bottle?
Also can anyone let me know how to make my dummies for my reborn
Thanks for all your help.

dollchitchat/crowd.png you do need to seal the bottle, I use silicone sealant but I believe you can use superglue to both seal the teat and stop the bottle being opened again. For the formula I use half white fabric condition with a dash of yellow conditioner & half boiled water.
For the dummy it depends on if the baby already has a magnet fitted or an open mouth, if it has a magnet fitted you need to cut the whole teat off and glue a small magnet to where the teat should be but don't do this until you have your reborn as the magnet needs to be the right way round and the only way of finding out which way is to put it to your reborns face, I would sit a piece of cloth over her lips before putting the magnet on so you don't scratch her paint/varnish. If it is open mouthed cut half the teat of then (depending on how open the mouth is) fill the open end of the teat with either super glue or silicone sealant or glue the cut off end over the top of the stubby bit left so it has a mini teat. HTH.

can i just add that when you make the bottles also add a couple of drops of bleach to the fabric conditioner and water mix to keep away any bacteria or the mixyure will stink terrible after a while.

I've never used bleach as the boiled water should be free from bacteria, I think the main problem is with water straight from the tap. Although I've never re-opened a bottle so wouldn't know about if they smell or not.

I occasionally make up a bottle and i used clear aquarium sealant to seal up the holes for the silicone teat and just simple fabric conditioner. It lasted and lasted till i had enough of it then all i did was empty it out and put the bottle in the dishwasher. Now i'm ready to start again. biggrin.gif

I fill the bottle halfway up with baby powder and give it a shake.

I made a couple up years ago, with a white fabric condit.. and water. sealed with silicone sealant, they are still perfect and look just like milk. A good shake occasionally required, lol. For a quicker alternative i have used cotton wool :) works a treat but is obviously less realistic. I love the talc idea xxx
