As many of you know my Nan has been in and out of hospital over the last four months or so, she had pnemonia, hospital infections, blood clots in her leg and quite a bad stroke that affected all her right side, talking and swallowing. She was very frail and several times we were advised by the consultant to prepare for the worst, but ...... she always amazed us by fighting on and bouncing back. Well she has got as good as she is expected to ow they have informed us and she has been sent home.
A hospital bed has been put downstairs and as she is now bedridden and cant even sit up by herself my mum has several carers come during the day. It was her 100 th birthday in August and I had arranged for a bouquet of flowers from the lord mayer for her. She is showing us the potted plant that was sent ( I was upset as Id been prommised a bouquet ) but she seemed to like it even though its dying now.
When I saw her, my heart was lifted it was as if after thinking my beloved nan was gone for ever ( she was unconciouse most of the time in hospital ) she had been returned to me, I know that it may not be for long but Im just so happy to have my lovely little nan back.... for now. I thought I would share my happy day with you. xxxxxxx

She does look amazing, I can't believe she is 100! I bet she has the best stories about how the world has changed in her lifetime.

Congratulations on your nan's 100th birthday and on having her home again, my dear friend - she is an iron lady, I must say, and she looks fabulous - I really can't see that she is 100 years old, but I can see that she is a lovely sweetie a little diamond!!!!!

If that was the plant that the Lord Mayor sent, I am not at all amazed, why couldn't they have sent her a big beautiful bouquet of flowers instead of a pepper plant???

Oh bless her Gail, she is so lovely and as you know she reminds me of my own lovely mum who sadly passed away a couple of years ago.

Oh wow,what an amazing lady. !!!! You wouldnt believe she had just celebrated her 100th birthday. !!!! She doesnt look a day past 60. !!!!

ps I agree, cheapskates sending a plant instead of flowers, although old people do seem to like plants, that's not even a lovely plant
