Girls hi!
I need some help please.
I am doing a resin series of babies and toddlers for miniature doll houses and I need some measurements.
How big should a baby be in length for a 1:12 scale doll house?
Are there other scales (bigger) too? What are they? (ok, now you know I know nothing about doll houses ;))

As far as a toddler goes, would you like one with a soft body that is poseable?
With wire inside?
How big are there?
Thank you so much for any help!
Hugs
Tina

Hi Tina,

I have three of your gorgeous tiny mini babies that I love to pieces!!!! dollchitchat/AddEmoticons1093.gif

You will always be able to know how long a dollhouse baby/toddler/person will be if you divide the real length by 12:

Example: Real baby is 53 cm long then the doll house baby will be 53 : 12 = 4.4 cm

that is the reason why doll house things are always named 1/12. Little Joey is perfect as a newborn baby!!! dollchitchat/vdaybouncies3.gif dollchitchat/morevdayb2.gif dollchitchat/vdaybouncies3.gif

Other measure is 1/24 which is half normal doll house size.

But every other measurements are not fit for dollhouses!!! That is why little Adorabelle that I love very much does not fit into my houses, but is placed in a special little nursery!!!! dollchitchat/vdaybouncies3.gif

As for toddlers, I love your suggestion of soft body with wire!!!! dollchitchat/141.gif

How exciting!!!!! dollchitchat/pompomgirl.gif dollchitchat/smilie_bauch.gif dollchitchat/pompomgirl.gif

Karen's got it perfectly, on a 1/12th scale it means one foot in real life is equal to one inch, so a 5 foot woman would be represented by a 5 inch doll. And so on.

I would dollchitchat/morevdayb2.gif a more poseable dollshouse toddler/child. I'm doing a 1/12th beach hut scene and have looked at tiny bjd's but they are all too big, and the standard dollshouse doll is lovely but not poseable. I'd like to be able to just pose mine to 'play' on the beach. So I can't wait to see what you come up with!!

I think there is a market out there for poseable dollshouse dolls. Carrie who is well known in the miniature world for her tiny bears has brought out a range of bjd's in 1/12th scale (my Moona is in my signature) as she was fed up of not having poseability in them, but she only does elves etc. So to have poseable children would be great!!!

dollchitchat/smilie_bauch.gif dollchitchat/smilie_bauch.gif The posable toddlers would be brilliant as it is hard to find posable toddlers. dollchitchat/smilie_bauch.gif dollchitchat/smilie_bauch.gif
