Are there any natural methods for bringing down your high BP?
Are there any foods that help bring down your high BP?
What is the best way to change your life for the better to improve stress and a high BP?
Are stress and a high blood pressure connected?

My mum has high blood pressure....
If she gets stressed out her blood pressure goes high...days when she doesn't get stressed...it is low..
Also diet comes alot into it...salt can raise the blood pressure...high fat food's..etc..
There might be natural methods to help lower this...herb's etc...so it is worth looking on the internet...
Also..aloe-vera is a great all rounder for ANYTHING!....the best one is from 'Forever living'.....
Hope this might have helped a little...
Love Annette..

I never had hbp until lately..brought on by a trapped nerve/torn ligament in my shoulder and my work doing my head in! The doc advised a good healthy low fat diet and plenty of excercise. Mine is definately going down, ive lost over a stone in weight in 4 weeks..i go for a brisk 3 mile walk every day even when i dont feel like it and it seems to be working. But boy it is hard to get motivated somedays
lol

I agree with Caroline on this, walking and healthy eating are both great remedies for a lot of things! Just wish I could take a leaf out of her book!!
Good luck Liz with whatever you try to reduce your high blood pressure.

If you want a natural approach, take a look at books by Patrick Holford, I've been to a couple of his lectures and he approaches stuff by diet and supplements

Liz, my best friend Sheila has HBP and her doc and the hospitals all recommend losing weight and exercise, unless she wants to go on meds, which she dont, but just to let you know once you do go on them you are on them for life, so it may be worth trying the above first.
Good luck

dollchitchat/vdaybouncies3.gif Yes I was going to warn of that too, I started with high blood pressure about three years ago out of the blue, Im sure it was brought on by stress as we were having a very harrowing time with our neighbour who had altzimers at the time and she used to throw bricks at the house and shout at us all the time I was constantly anxious and wound up so when my blood pressure went up the doctor put me on some tablets which she NOW says I shouldnt come off.
But I do think healthy eating and regular excersise does help you to keep healthy and feel better mentally too, I think I read somewhere that excersise helps lower your blood pressure, but please dont quote me on this check with your doctor first before you start to excersise. XXXX

dollchitchat/141.gif my hubby had very high blood pressure, doctor suggested he did plenty of walking and low fat diet. It certainly worked for him, it also helped his angina.
