How can I keep the floppiness of my Alfie, his filled with baby fat in his chest and I don't know what with in his bum. I put some fibre fill in his chest along with the bay fat, but he lost his floppiness. but with just the baby fat his chest seems to cave in. can I do both, keep the floppiness without his chest caving?? not so much his chest as just below his neck???

Have you tried pellets?

redvelvet- 11-09-2007
Jodi do you mean the plastic pellets, if so no I haven't. will this stop his upper chest caving???

jodi- 11-09-2007
Yes plastic pellets xxx I am just guessing here, but it sounds as though you used to much fibre fill to try and stop his belly from caving in, so if you was to combine some pellets, then surround them with fibre fill to keep him soft, he should keep his floppiness without being over filled. Baby fat is great as well xxx

wanted to add, i am not an expert.. so may be someone has a better suggestion x

The plastic pellets are so much better when you want floppy, as the silicone baby fat seems to cling together, dollchitchat/33.gif dollchitchat/33.gif

Veronica I usually put a little soft fill at the bottom, then fill with the beads, and then soft fill at the top, show us when you are done ok dollchitchat/Love-Bear.gif dollchitchat/Love-Bear.gif dollchitchat/Love-Bear.gif

I emptied him out completely and found a bag of sand in his bum, But I haven't got any fine glass sand like granules left so I put that back, then filled with the plastic pellets and a little fat pellets on the very top, mixed with more plastic pellets. he seems fine and will do untill I can get the fine glass I like. and his nice a floppy, I filled him to the very top with lots of shaking the contents about so it all settled in properly. he feels great just like a real baby, and his upper chest doesn't cave as much, I think it just needed the plastic pellets and being filled more.
So thank you ladies.
another question though, when I get the glass filler for his bum, you know the sort that goes into limbs, what is the best thing to put it into? dollchitchat/bigthink.gif dollchitchat/bearhugblinkie1.gif for you both.

You can put your glass granules into a pop sock or sew a small bag made out of cotton Veronica. Don't compact the granules in too tight though, keep the bag large enough so they can move about or they will just feel like a solid lump rather than being mobile..... dollchitchat/bearhugblinkie1.gif

Thanks Kath, I hadn't thought of that, about the bag or how to fill it. I will come back to this thread after the show so I will know what to do.
I do love this little man. his in my arms now, and just looks so much like my son did when he was born. dollchitchat/sgiveheart.gif dollchitchat/bearhugblinkie1.gif
