I don't use DHL or UPS for shipments in Japan - they are expensive and their service is crap. Surprisingly, the regular post office is the best way to receive packages. Perhaps the same is true in Switzerland.

thanks Girls the trouble is Shawnah i find the post office prices here are so expensive to send abroad dont know whats happening now as the buyer is no longer answering my emails it would just be my luck if she puts a paypal claim in and i lose the doll and the money

& sending i hope all goes ok but knowing a lot that you get on ebay are so picky, i tell you i would not be paying them no more & POSTING WITH THEM SEE HOW THEY LIKE THAT, & as for the buyer you can only do what you can copy the email you were sent & send it on thats about all you can do

thanks Sal i have sent the copy of the letter to the buyer but have heard nothing yet ? saying that she may have gone away for a day or so, regarding interparcel they seem really good when it`s this country but i will now be looking for another courier service as their customer care stinks

Update i had a not so nice ebay message from the buyer even though i have asked her twice to contact me through my email addy as ebay limit the amount of times you can contact through one link and even though i told her i took the afternoon off work and spent that time phoning the couriers and trying to get hold of the customs but it seems she wants blood
i have spent this morning talking to a very concerned and helpful young american gent (paypal) through tears as this is really getting to me now , sorry but have to cut short, he is going to email her and assures me that i have done my best in the transaction and that she needs to be patient regarding the customs, sorry need to go now, thanks for your support girls xxx

Thankyou Shawnah you are such a sweet friend i am feeling a lot better today and like hubby says whats the worst she can do now you know she cant claim the money and the doll !!! she can leave a negative !!! so what!!! worse things happen

you went about it the right way. at least all the people that need to know about it do. whatever happens from here , it is NOT your fault and you did all you could to rectify it.

I wouldnt worry. If nothing happens within 30 days you can file a claim and get her money back for her....otherwise....she can wait!

I hope you get it soted out Marie. Its so disappointing when buyers act like this. I know that some sellers can be a nightmare but I think you can always work out the ones who are genuine and those who mess you about. I have had similar issues before with some buyers where no matter what you do for them they are never satisfied. I have found its more so since sellers cannot now leave negative feedback on ebay, some buyers are really trying it on. Its obvious you have more than gone out of your way to sort out this situation which at the end of the day is not your fault. Your buyer would be extremely ungrateful if they left you negative feedback because of this. I have always used Interparcel and now use DHL thru them and on the whole have found them good. Customs is another ball game and as youve said youve done all you can. I hope it gets resolved soon.

So sorry for you Marie, this shouldn't have happened to you but I am afraid thats life for you. As my dear old mum used to say (sadly departed) "the baddies always seem to win". Keep your chin up and don't let it get you down for too long.

She must be able to see you're busting a gut to try and get it sorted

If she leaves you a negative ( personally I don't think she will) you just put a reply explaining all.

I always read the replies to negatives and nine times out of ten the buyer has been unfair.

Ebay should police these matters more efficiently
