A while ago I posted about a family having problems (through being alcoholic and violent)

And told about how their 8 year old son preferred to be out in the freezing rain on his own than be in his house dollchitchat/AddEmoticons07628.gif

He has spent the Summer hols away at his real mums. and came back to visit (he is going to live permanently with his Mum)

I am so happy!
He is not the same boy. He is dressed well, has filled out and looks 100% better....but it's his eyes. They're not haunted any more...they are shining and HAPPY!

It is wonderful to see!
Just wanted to share this happy post script.

OMG, that is amazing. It is so sad to see children neglected. Even unintentionally , it is pretty much abuse. When it IS done intentionally it just breaks my heart!

I know i didnt have it as bad as many as a child, and I am greatful. But my parents split up when I was in 6th grade. It was hard and my mom wasnt the best at parenting, especially alone.

By 8th grade (13 yrs) I began running. The excersize helped me mentally and it got me AWAY from the house. By the time I was 18 I was running 20 miles a day! anything to not be at home! yes, i ran in the rain, snow and anything! It is sad to see kids feel the need to do ANYthing to get away.

I am glad he has a better life now, and yes...eyes show everything (gateway to the soul)

hugs and thanks for sharing this...I am so happy for him.

That's very happy news! Hope the future is bright and happy for him ~ as he deserves, just like all children do. You must be so relieved to see this little lad moving on, bless him... dollchitchat/vdaybouncies3.gif

Lisabeth, I wish I could turn the clock back and change the way things were for you. I can only say it's a tribute to your strength of character that you've become the woman you are. Love you!
