I know I don't post in this section all that muh but I am a very active knitter and cross stitcher.
Anyhoo I'm having a little trouble with my knitting, it all looks fine apart from my edges which look like a squggily line rathet then a staright piece of knitting which I always think brings my knitting down, hence not ever showing any of it ^^;
I just wondered if anyone here had any tips on keeping the edges neat???
I'm quite consistent with my tension it just seems that on the edges there is a lot of excess so when I am knitting or purling the stitch the loop on the bottom on the knitting goes round the back of the needle with the working wool, I just can't seem to knit that part neatly at all so any advice I can try out would be much appriciated ^^
It seems I forgot to log out of moms account this is actually H ^^; I think it might well be time for sleep ^^;
I always knit the first and last stitch regardless of the pattern ,some peeps slip the first stitch but i prefer to knit it .
Sometimes slipping the first stitch can make your edges even more messy. Have you tried knitting the first couple of stitches tighter. It takes some getting used to but works for me.

I always slip the first stitch. Looks lovely and neat.
Try knitting your first and last stitch a bit tighter.Once you've sewn the seams together you wont see uneven ends.
I do the same as Pat - I knit into the first and last stitch regardless of the pattern too!
Tip from my old mum:-
When casting on knit into the back of the stitch rather than the front, it forms a lovely neat straight cast on edge.
Hope this helps

Try different methods of casting on like Minnie said. The way I cast on is knit between the stitches.

I always knit my first row at the back of the stitches, and I knit or purl my first and last stitch on each row at the back to. something someone here suggested to me.
I always knit my first and last stitch regardless of what it says on the pattern. I also cast on by working between the stitches:vday3:
