dollchitchat/Love-Bear.gif HI Marie I know how you feel, I was a size 12 when I got married almost thirty years ago (wow it seems muuuuch longer he he) and weighed 8stone 6 pounds. Last month I went with hubby for his hospital appointment hes waiting for a double bypass, and he had to be weighed, I dont like scales as I have struggled with my weight for years but out of curiosity I asked her to weigh me too. BAD IDEA I was 16 and a half stones, I have lost 1 and a half inches in hight ( I think thats the spinal surgery I had ) and my bodyfat index was secound from the top of the graph I think she said it was 40. Im also type 2 diabetic so she said basically Im stuffed. Well I do really try to eat well and I think we do - regular meals fresh fruit lots of veg its just the OTHER STUFF I STRUGGLE WITH. I reach for the cake and chocolate when ever life is hard, any problem or worry its chocolate Im like a druggy. My hubby watches me like a hawk because of the blood sugar cocern but I cant stop. I think Its a great Idea to try to support each other and try to get our health back on track. Good luck to you and all the others who are also trying hard I know its hard but Im so sure in my heart that we can do it as my hubby says (grrrrrrrrr) YOU SHOULD EAT TO LIVE NOT LIVE TO EAT. Well I have one for him too THE PAST IS HISTORY, TOMORROW IS A MYSTERY, BUT TODAY IS A GIFT. and we should all enjoy every day. hugs Gail xxx

Well I need to be in here too! In August we had a night out from work and I could find not one thing in my wardrobe to fit me to go that is except an elasticated skirt that had to really stretch laugh.gif I decided that night something needed to be done. For ages I've known inside that I couldn't go on the way I was. My back is getting worse and breathing was difficult when I laid down to sleep.....I took the plunge and went to Slimming World and I've lost 1 1/2 stone in 9 weeks! I feel alot better already but I have lots more to lose yet. I'm 5ft tall and I'm weighing 12st 6lbs at the moment.... dollchitchat/addemoticons1391.gif At least I'm going in the right direction now.... dollchitchat/medium-smiley-075.gif dollchitchat/patience.gif I too was a size 10 bride - 30 odd years ago....what happened to us? dollchitchat/smilie_bauch.gif

Hi Marie,

SNAP!!!! I am 5'4" and 14 stone, and was (in my younger days) a size 10 -12........arthritis makes exercise difficult (thats my excuse laugh.gif ) I can stick to a diet for 3 days, tops then I hit the chocolate and cakes, I have a very sweet tooth, which I blame on my father, who left this world without a tooth in his head because of all the sugar he ate laugh.gif laugh.gif

I found a skirt the other day that was a size 10 and honestly I could now wear it as a sleeve!!!!

You have my full sympathy, its horrible struggling to loose weight, especially when your body isn't cooperating and flatly refuses to loose a single pound!!!!

I've pm'd Marie and she's happy for me to set up a diet thread, starting 1st November, as she's so busy at the moment. So anyone who wants to join me in a quest to be a bit slimmer in 2008, look out for the thread dollchitchat/pompomgirl.gif

Well it came back to me I am 5 foot and no inches, used to be 5 foot an an inch. anyway, I did lose some then put it back on again, I must say no all the time when hubby passes round the goodies and remember they are actually baddies that want to stay on my hips, tum and bum. But I am doing more now I have the pushchair, going out more and walking more helps. But now the cold weather is here it's harder. does anyone else find it harder to lose weight in the winter?? dollchitchat/striste.gif
I was also into a size ten when newly married now 26 years later 14 stone and a size 20 depending what I wear. also arthritis makes it difficult to exercise especially in the winter. dollchitchat/stick.gif dollchitchat/medium-smiley-075.gif dollchitchat/addemoticons1391.gif
