Here are pics of our baskets that the kids and I made for this years giving of thanks. Last year we gave out stuffed toys from Khols outside of Walmart to all kids that came through the doors.
This year I chose to do something a bit different. We made a few baskets with candles, candies, a handmade centerpiece (doves) by me, and other goodies. We will be taking them out on the town next week to give to those stranger who look like they may need a hug this holiday. My intent for one is for our local "homeless" lady (she actually has a one room house, but no car) who walks around town all day, and stands on corner preaching good faith and tells motorists to slow down! hee hee She is a bit of an icon here in town and I think Miss Jesse deserves one of these, so we will try to locate her this week. It has gotten cold here, but she is sure to be found on a corner somewhere. The rest will just be at random.
We also want to do something that the kids will be more involved in. Buy some more animals and deliver them to the local firehouse so that they can give them to kids that have been involved in accidents etc....it calms them down and they collect these each year. I hope to get GOOD pics of the kids then....so check back later!
Here are the pics of our baskets. May all of you have a very merry holiday.
Hugs
Elisabeth
