Hi all
There is a Berenguer baby prem boy on e-bay140195848139 that I am thinking of working with. It is 32 pounds.

It will be my first reborn. I am trying to do this cheaply as I have absultely no tools for reborning, no paints or anything. What I do have though is some acrylic paints already, and I have lots of different mohair and some felting needles. I don't know if I can use the felting needles for rooting or not, they are very fine tipped needles.

I also have my lovely Logan (Afghan hound) so was thinking of washing and using some of his hair (but I haven't told him yet he doesnt even like it when the brush comes out!!!)

I know some people have used acrylics but over time they don't do so good, but I just thought it is a cheap start for me. the baby has a baby smell but I suppose that will go when I start work on it. What do you all think please?

I don't know if he's suitable or not but when I was looking before I did keep coming across job lots of arms and legs which are great to practice on! Good luck, I can't wait to see how you get on

If its your very first reborn I would buy a cheap playdoll you can get them second hand or a new peterkin doll for about £6 in most toy shops. I had an old playdoll I painted and stripped several times then bought a doll which when I was happy with it gave to my sister as a gift and she loves it although I wouldn't have sold it.
Felting needles are what most people use, anything from 38 gauge and smaller but you may need strengthened ones if rooting a hard vinyl doll.
Good luck.
