I saw a volks doll i absolutely LOVE can't seem to find the pics now, not sure where i saw it and can't even remeber if its a boy or girl or even an age! But knowing me it would have been young!

Lol Cindy, I thought you said only yesterday you didn't like Volks dolls Was it a Yo-sd? I think they are very cute, but I think I like the CH Petite-ai girls just as much (which is good as they are cheaper lol!)

I have a beautiful Volks Megu who hasn't made her debut here yet. She has a very interesting story of how she came to me, which I will post in a separate thread along with some of the vintage Volks outfits that came with her.

No Kath i have always said there was just 1 i loved, i was going to pursue it at the time but H said they were hugely expensive so i did'nt bother looking into it further as i had already found several others i loved too.
I looked on the volks site and could'nt find a yo sized i love, so its either an irl pic of someones or not yo sized, just soooo frustrating being as forgetful as i am
I WILL find it though it may take a while ...........

Here are my little girls, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Volks BJD'S !!!

Cindy, the Volks Yo-SD dolls are either limited dolls (and then sell on the secondary market for about $500+ depending on the condition and the rarity... I actually saw one for $2000) or the Angel series. The Angel YoSD dolls have magnets in the back to hold wings from what I understand. Personally, I prefer the Angels, because they generally have a softer child-like look to them, but there are always exceptions. They are only available for purchase in Japan from what I understand unless you purchase them off the secondary market.

I'm hoping that Volks will introduce a full-choice system for the YoSD dolls, but I'm not sure if it will happen.

I am still in awe as to how these dolls can be changed so dramamtically with a wig and eye change!
But anyways what size is Ashienne and why does she look completely different to Miriams and others here???????

Cindy, I'm sure Shawnah can answer better than me, but she did give me a link to the site showing all the different sculpts you can combine with different bodies, limbs, etc, to make your own doll. This service is only for people who can attend the shops, such as Shawnah. The doll that Jessica is selling on here is a similar one. I think I would love to have one Volks girl one day, that I can spoil with amazing outfits and wigs etc.

Those msd bodies are amazing! Seem to pose really well and to be able to choose hands and feet is just incredible, hmmmnn starting to sink in as to why Volks is held in such high regard....

Kath thankyou this has been very helpful as i just cant navigate the volks site, i find it veryyy confusing and have only looked at the yo sized dolls as a result!

Miriam's dolls are what are termed "limited" dolls, Cindy, and I definitely agree that they are GORGEOUS. Miriam seems to gravitate to the older Volks look which I would term more classic and anime-ish whereas I tend to gravitate towards the more modern sculpts where the anime features are a bit more downplayed. The MSD I have is an F-20 sculpt. My next MSD, however, will be a bit more "anime" and that is the F-18. Someday!

My Ashienne's eyes are glued in so I never change her eyes, but they are quite dark so reflect differently in different light. I like the contrast of dark eyes with the "normal" complexion since I feel it is more striking. The bright eyes also look beautiful, but for me my personal preference is dark eyes. BUT... as with everything, I generally like what is not the "norm". It is amazing how a wig change and clothing change can completely change the doll. This is why I love Ashienne so much.

Personally, I will ONLY purchase an FCS doll or perhaps one of the Angel series if one comes up that I can't live without since the Angel series are an open edition that is sold to however many people want to purchase within a limited timeframe. But I don't have the patience or the inclination to stand in line and then participate in a lottery system for a limited edition doll. And, I'm way too cheap to consider buying one at inflated prices. And, I'm way too lazy to worry about ordering on-line. But, saying that, I have seen them at Volks and they are incredible dolls and would certainly be an asset to any collection not because of their rarity, but because of their beauty.

The reason I collect Volks is that I can see them in person, make my own doll and then wait for the delivery. I like that.

Shawna i just looked again and i still can't see Ashienne in the f-20 mold! If i had to choose one i probably would have said f-20 but yours looks wayyyy cuter and younger.
This is the thing i love the most about the bjds i think, the transformation, its astounding!

I read on the site you have to go to the shop to order and choose, and how you are treated by the staff there, how cool is that, and a very rare thing indeed, anyone would think you were buying a top of the range sports car instead of doll!.

How far are you away from Volks? Is this the place you have to catch the train too and get there very early, dolpha?????????
