JUST TO GIVE YOU ALL AN UP DATE ON TINA ... WELL THEY HAVE LET HER HOME TODAY (THURSDAY) BUT HER MOTHER IS STAYING WITH HER TO HELP HER RECOVERY ... AND HAS TOLD HER NO COMPUTER UNTIL SHE IS FIT , SO FINGERS CROSSED THAT WILL NOT BE TOO LONG ....TINA HAS A PROBLEM NOW WITH HER CALCIUM LEVEL ...TOO IS REALLY LOW ...SO THEY WILL BE TREATING HER FOR THAT TOO ... SHE ALSO HAS TO GO TO THE THYROID CLINIC FOR CHECKS ON THE LEVEL ( OF WHAT EVER THE THYROID CONTROLS ) ANYWAY ...I THOUGHT YOU WOULD LIKE TO KNOW THE FOLLOW UP TO THE OPERATION ... MANY HUGS ...VAL XXXX

I seem to remember from my A level biology that the thyroid and parathyroid do have something to do with calcium as well as thyroxine. Hopefully they will sort it out soon for Tina and I hope she'll be back soon with us

Hi Everyone

Zoe and I would like to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers for us both. You are helping me to recover as it is hard for me at the moment having had cancer a second time. Scars heal up fine but my mind is not too happy at the moment and upset. My doctor says this is all normal and has explained about what the thyroid does which has helped make me feel a bit happier. As long as I take the pills I should be fine.

The left side of my neck is still swollen and find it hard to turn it but that will get better with time and a bit uncomfortable but at least I am still here to pester you all You just can't get rid of me as I am like a bad penny I keep coming back. I am sure I must have been a cat in a past life as only got three lives left now.

Zoe is making sure I do as I am told and glares at me if I am doing things I shouldn't. Everywhere I go Zoe goes too so that she can keep an eye on me and see what I am doing.

I won't be on much as it still hurts me to stay at my computer for a while but I will keep popping on from time to time to see what you are all getting up to.

You have been through the mill as they say, so just take things slowly.
I'm so glad to hear Zoe is keeping her eye on you!

I believe a general aneasthetic can make you feel down also...I had my gallbladder out a couple of weeks ago and was having the weirdest dreams (all my family including me were committing suicide by taking 5 paracetemol each...boy was I glad when I got back to normal!)

I hope you have a speedy recovery!

Go with the lows hun and they are quite normal-having surgery and stuff makes you hit the bottom and the mind is a tricky dude!

Hope you're feeling better very soon Tina. Know exactly what you're talking about with the thyroid. The swelling will go soon, but the feeling in your neck will take a little while longer. I had half my thyroid removed because of a nodule tumor, and it was such a weird feeling......like my head was going to fall off my neck if I moved it the wrong way! hahaha. I have the feeling back in my neck now, but it was a long time before it did feel normal.

It sounds like you've got a very diligent furbaby companion who's looking out for you as you've always looked out for her. :)
