Ok, it's not as bad as it sounds! dollchitchat/AddEmoticons0762.gif

I have noticed that a couple of my Himmies seem to have developed "squishy head syndrome". I first noticed a while ago while re-dressing Pinchinhu that the top of her head felt soft. Her wig is perfectly secure around the edges, but right on the top of her head it feels a little loose.

To be honest, I thought perhaps it was my fault and I'd been rough when dressing her, but I am always so careful, and now I've noticed that two of the others have got the same thing!

Could the wigs have stretched or something? Are they affected by the cold?

I would be grateful for any suggestions as I'm worried about my poor girls now and also that the others may develop the same thing!! dollchitchat/smilie_help.gif

OOO Margaret not heard of this. dollchitchat/AddEmoticons12628.gif ..but so long as they seem secure on sides and stuff Im sure its nothing to worry about? dollchitchat/AddEmoticons1093.gif dollchitchat/smilie_bauch.gif

Perhaps someone more knowledgeable on the WIG of Himmies may know?? dollchitchat/AddEmoticons12628.gif

Thanks Jack! dollchitchat/bearhugblinkie1.gif Maybe I'm over-reacting and they've always been like that, but I do so hope there is not a problem! dollchitchat/bigthink.gif

yup...it is very common actually. Usually it is how the wig is placed or that the wig is a bit too big for the head. They put some "fluff" under the wig to fill it out. Some have more or less fluff and feel squishy to the touch...i have had many like that. as long as it doent go WAY down deep when pressed (dont do it too hard!) which would mean that the pate has fallen inside.

I wouldnt worry...sounds like some may have extra fluff! No an issue...just a poofy head! haha

Thanks, Elizabeth! No it doesn't go way down, thankfully lol!

My concern was that I didn't think they had always been that way?? dollchitchat/bigthink.gif

Hi--

This is a very good question. You'll be glad to know that there's nothing wrong with your dolly.

This fluff is very important to the shape of the doll's head.

The vinyl would be very heavy if the whole thing were solid...and, how would they put the eyeballs in?

So, the top of the head is open, except for the pate (small circle).

Before the wig is placed on, the extra stuffing is added to put the proper dome for the shape of the skull.

It is easier to take that portion and added the puffy stuff.

Imagine how much less actual material you would use as a sculptor (or factory!) to omit that top of the ball.

I bought A new Himmie and it had the same problem! I lifted the wig and found that the top of the head has a saucer size peice that screws on or off. The one on mine had unscrewed and turned upside down so the wig was squishee on top. I put the top back the right way up and glue the wig back. Problem solved! dollchitchat/141.gif I don't know if that is what has happened to yours but its good to know other peoples experiences. Hope you get it sorted! dollchitchat/dccml.png dollchitchat/bearthrowingkisses.gif

I had a himmie that arrived from the dealer a couple of years ago with the pate (small round cap on the top of the head) loose so I needed to pull the wig off and restick the pate on then put the wig back on. It wasn't a big problem.

Thanks everyone for your input! dollchitchat/bearthrowingkisses.gif Not sure I'll be doing any further investigations like pulling wigs off- too scared!!LOL! dollchitchat/vdaybouncies3.gif

As long as this isn't a progressive problem then I'm happy to leave them as they are. dollchitchat/angel_sm029.gif
