Theres been conflic for many years in Africa.They dont seem to mind that they are harming the very people that are there to help them out.Its a sad situation but ti happens.
Thanks for your kind words regarding Uncle Phillip. He was a lovely man who also set out to help these poor people and educate their children.He gave them good working conditions and homes too but sadly it wasnt enough.

Thank goodness that you decided to stay at home, my dear friend - we were so worried about you all of us!!!! It was terrible what happened to Lizzie's uncle, and must have been awful for his family and friends!!! Sponsoring a child, is a really good idea - a few of us in our department at work have a sponsored child in Burundi, and it is heart-warming to see how well she and her family do just with a little extra from us!!! Sending you a lot of big squeezy hugs!!!!

I have a sponsor child in India, Marie, and it is great! I wanted to "give back" and that was the way I chose to do it.

Glad you decided to not go at this time, Marie. Sponsoring a child sounds a good idea. My sister sponsors a 'child' but the money is actually pooled to help the village the child lives in, she preferred that to sponsoring only the one child. Let me know if you want any details.
