I thought you would like to know the la-*test*-('") news on my little nan who is poorly in hospital and so many of you dear friends sent me messages and good wishes while she was very poorly.

The la-*test*-('") news is that the antibiotics seem to have taken effect and she is no longer as confused as she was, she has been allowed to sit out in a chair today and my mum did her hair for her and she feels much better.

The doctor has said that being the age she is and this last episode of phnemonia has taken its toll and that her organs are starting to fail so if she continues to be stable they are aiming to let her go home whicn is where she wants to be.
We have been told that she will infact be going home to die but all understand that this is where she would like to be right now in her own home with her family around her. I know I have to accept the proffesionals opinion but this little darling has bounced back on many occasions and I still think that she may get to see her 100th birthday in August yet. She is such a strong person even though she is only about 5ft tall and as they say ITS NOT OVER TILL THE FAT LADY SINGS and Im not about to start singing just yet. XXXXX

I think that you little lovely darling nan will fight - I can see it from the look that I saw in her eyes in your picture, and that was exactly like my own darling mum who was 92!!! - She is not ready to go, as life has still got a lot in store for her, and I think that she is planning to be here on her 100th birthday - I think that she is a little sweet fighter, and I won't start singing yet!!!!

I so wish that this little darling nan will recover and keep her will to live!!!!!

She sounds like she is a real fighter, so with her fight and with your positive attitude she has every chance of pulling through this and seeing that magical birthday, which she so deserves

OH BLESS HER .. YOU NAN WILL BE HAPPIER AT HOME WITH HER FAMILY ANWAY ... SOMETIME THEY GET IT WRONG YOU KNOW THEY TOLD US THAT OUR DAD HAD ONLY 3-6 MAX ...HE LIVESD 18 MONTHS ,HE WAS 62 .... BUT THEN YOUR NAN HAS HER LOVING FAMILY TO KEEP HER GOING AND IF SHE GETS STRONGER THEN " ARE WE ALL INVITED TO THE 100 TH BASH ??????

Thanks for the update Gail, I often think about your lovely nan as she reminds me of my mum who I lost about 18 months ago. Its amazing how they bounce back from an illness when they are so frail. I think they know when their time is up when they get to a good age and they just seem to say "let me go, I have had enough now". I do hope your nan makes it to 100, if that is what she wants. Please give her a gentle hug from me.

Never underestimate these ladies, they may look frail & old, but they have a real fighting spirit...dont be surprised if she keeps going strong for ages yet...

She will be more comfortable & happy in her own home, with all her things and family around her
