I was so fed up yesterday with the healthy diet brought on with the diabetes, I decided to make Battered Fish chips and mushy peas for dinner. Hubby arrived back from his bike ride and looked very quizical at me, I said I am fed up with the diet and the diabetes, he just shrugged his shoulders. I cooked it, inhaled the smell of chip fat with great pleasure and put it on the plates. I added a jug of curry sauce and sat down to eat it. WELL it tasted awful - I hate mushy peas anyway, but just felt rebellious. I then paid the price, my blood sugar level shot up, I felt sick and dizzy This morning I got on the bathroom scales and had gained 1lb. To-day I have done a 4 mile walk, plus shopped at the supermarket then had a healthy lunch - I really feel better for it. I am really mad at myself for cheating. Sheila.

Sheila I know what you mean, you get bored with the healthy eating, but when you break away from it you feel awful. some times I over do the sweet stuff, I to get dizzy feel sick and my IBS plays up, since my thyroid stopped working. But look on the bright side we only go off the rails occasionally because of our health, were not doing it every day. I am happy you have had a good day today, keep up the healthy eating and exercise.

Dont be so hard on yourself...its not really cheating. Being 'good' all the time is boring, sometimes a bit of what you fancy does you good.
Im sorry it left you feeling unwell, but we all need a break from the healthy eating sometimes, we cant all the while
