Hello Ladies
I hope i can put this so that you all are able to understand me.
I have quite a few very very old knitting and some crochet pattern books. They belong to my grandmother and i believeshe used them for my dad, who is now nearly 80, my self (55) and so on down the family.
There are many patterns including shawls, full sets, coats, jumpers ,dresses, little boys all in one suits. Some of you clever ladies may have to adjust the needle size or the ply of the wool to adjust the size
Now comes the difficult bit. As you can imagine i cannot bare to part with these but they are just sitting in a box, so i thought if any of you out there would be interested, i would only be too happy to send photo copies to who ever were interested.
I do not ask for anything in return except perhaps if you use the patterns you send me photos of the finished garment.

I love the old paterns because they are often knitted in finer yarns. As you say it would be no problem to work out the yarns to use from the size of old needles stated.
If you wanted I could always knit you smething in return for your kindness if there are particular patterns you love. Or I could go through them and work out yarns and new needles sizes at last.
When they call something 3 ply in these old patterns it will not be the same thickness as our 3 ply today.

Oh my goodness, i am just overwhelmed by you interest in my grans old knitting and crochet patterns. I think she is looking down on me and just shaking her head!!!!.

Unfortunately because i have my smocking orders to do, i am only going to be able to get a few of the sets done per day. Oh I realy love those old patterns and would be very intrested in the kniting patterns please. You are so kind to offer to let us use them. They remind me of the things my gran used to knit.

Well i am happy to say that i got several sets of the patterns in the post last Tuesday 25th and again today Monday 31st. So i am getting there. I still have 7 to go so please bear with me
