Are you in the UK? I think the best place by far is to go to a dollfair. Otherwise their is the Dolls House Emporium website, plus others. Do a search on dollshouse online shops and see what comes up. I'll have a look round tomorrow for sites and see what I can find for you (off to bed now!).

Ah, thanks Kayjay, much appreciated and yes, I am in the UK.

Well there is the DHE http://www.dollshouse.com/dhe/dolls-houses...collectors.aspx They also have a busy forum with members who could probably help you

Other sites to browse

How about buying a book about Victorian life and using that for ideas?? Such as http://www.amazon.co.uk/Victorian-House-St...10960806&sr=1-8

This book on miniatures http://www.amazon.co.uk/Victorian-Dolls-Ho...10961483&sr=1-8

I would also get to a dollshouse fair near you, they are really the best place to find gorgeous bits and bobs for your house

Claire, is your inbox full, I couldn't send you a message. The dolls house is completely made with MDF, which is why it weighs so heavy.

Oooooo Claire are you thinking of getting Janet's house?? I would love it but we just don't have the room - go for it, it's a fabulous sized house which will keep you entertained for years lol!!!!!! You could have servant quarters, posh rooms, a nursery..... dollchitchat/141.gif

Yes I am thinking about it, its a lovely house isn't it. Just trying to work out the logistics ! Hugs, Claire x

kayjay- 05-17-2008
Whereabouts do you live for fairs?

I'd try somehow to work out the logistics, a house of this size would cost you a bomb for just a kit, and then you'd have to stick it together (my least favourite bit!!). Good luck dollchitchat/pompomgirl.gif

I live in Stockport, on the outskirts of Manchester.

kayjay- 05-17-2008
Stockport - that's not too far from me, near Preston!

From there the trip is well worth it to Miniatura at the NEC which is a few hours down the M6, my friend drove me down in March and it took about two and a bit hrs, we left at 8ish and got there for about 10.30..

I also go to the fair at Pudsey, which isn't that hard to get to along the M62 either. The fair is only 5 mins from Pudsey train station, if there's a train that goes. I can go from Blackburn but we could always hook up there for a coffee!!
