dollchitchat/confused0068.gif Yuk they are horrible, as you say you'd think they'd prefer something tastier - maybe they think it's a bit like a nest?? Good luck in getting rid of them dollchitchat/Love-Bear.gif

jodi- 11-17-2007
oh dear, yes, i agree maybe they think its a nest? ants are clean insects i think??? lol.. i get ants galore in the summer.. i blame the kids who like to leave biscuit trails everywhere xxx

redvelvet- 11-17-2007

Oh yes... Horrible things they are!! I managed to coax them out of there with some nice sweet "Ant Rid" Ha ha, So they all diaspeared over a couple of nights!@!
Serves 'em right i say laugh.gif

I will wash the pellets in soap and water and dry them out...

GRRRRR... I am So over Bugs!! this time of year is BAD down under dollchitchat/stick.gif

But thank fully there is nothing wrong with the pellets, lol but i shall always be careful to seal my bags up now!
They don't seem interested in them in the dolls body, i have no idea why but left open in the packaging bag... it's just weird!!
YUKKK!

redvelvet- 11-18-2007
It sounds to me they were looking for nesting, I would disinfect the pellets first in a gentle nice smelling disinfectant, just in case they have laid eggs in among the pellets. If I was you. dollchitchat/bearhugblinkie1.gif

sylvie- 11-18-2007
Hey, maybe they think they are eggs and are trying to move them, the size and shape are the same as ants eggs. How weird! I can't believe they are eating them!

magsbk- 11-18-2007
eeeeeeeek if theres one thing i hate its ants its making me itch just thinking about it ,wash them off with disenfectent like the girls say its a shame to wast your pellets there pricey enough lol magsbk

Oh yes Disinfectant!!
i watched them for a while...( i'm curious by nature biggrin.gif )The little buggers where trying to run off with the pellets one by one..... Very strange indeed, maybey they did think they were eggs to take back to the Queen?

I know they couldn't lay eggs in there because they are only working ants, only the Queen can lay eggs thank fully!

Little Rascals!!!!

Thanks for your suggestions dollchitchat/smilie_sofaroll.gif

You've given me a good chuckle with this thread. laugh.gif I'd have watched the little buggers too. laugh.gif You might have hit on a new idea for stuffing our babies - ants! Small, soft and they move. laugh.gif dollchitchat/4.gif

Ants can be a nightmare if they get into your home.
We have had a bad problem with them this summer they were attracted to an elephant candle ornament we had, I was dusting one day and saw it was covered in black I screamed when I realised the black was a moving mass of ants. We traced them back into our lounge wall unit and they had made a nest in one of the DVD cases I had never seen a nest before but it was just like honeycombe. I felt awful but we had to hoover them all up, I hate to kill anything but it took days of that regime to get rid of them indoors then we had to put ant powder down, we found in the end that they were coming in through the conservatory. dollchitchat/bump.gif dollchitchat/4.gif
