The seller of my just won new baby has messaged me to say will I leave feedback as soon as possible as paypal withold payment until it is given

I said of course I will

But what of those cases where buyers aren't fussed about leaving feedback?
Do sellers have to beg to get their cash released?

Linda I really DONT understand any of this ebay change at all.

So are they saying if WE dont leave the feedback we dont get our money til WE do?? dollchitchat/AddEmoticons07628.gif

Is this for REAL!!!! dollchitchat/confused0068.gif

Im getting people BUYERS...not leaving feedback..so I dont know if they've got their items..let alone happy!! dollchitchat/4.gif

Its just not good business practice by EBAY to adjust these new rules to suit the buyer and not the seller as well?? dollchitchat/stick.gif

This is not true!

I have sold lots of items on eBay just recently and was paid by PayPal on all of them - you get your money from PayPal STRAIGHTAWAY and as a Seller can withdraw it within seconds if you wanted to - I think you are being fooled into giving the Seller good feedback in case you leave her negative BEFORE you get your doll!

And how CAN they expect to leave feedback for something you HAVEN'T received? dollchitchat/4.gif

Thanks for clearing that up Angie.
All these new changes I think have us all in a muddle! dollchitchat/4.gif

I have sold a couple of things this week and been paid by paypal, and the money isn't on hold....so I think she's spinning you a line Linda!

is it anything to do with the funds being in the account or coming from a card. I don't have funds in my paypal account cos I don't sell my all comes off my debit card mainly sometimes my credit card. I've seen some auctions though where they say no paypal if funded from debit/credit cards. dollchitchat/AddEmoticons12628.gif

This isn't the first time I've heard his though, someone else couldn't get funds released until feedback was done.......... was it Linda, I'm sure it was someone on here who'd sold stuff. dollchitchat/AddEmoticons12628.gif

It is actually true that some accounts are held until either the buyer leaves postive feedback or after around 21 days in which time the buyer has the right to make a claim if for example they say they did not receive the goods or theyve left negative feedback if theyre unhappy with something and may make a claim. One of my other ebay accounts which is a newer one will allow so much funds then it reverts to holding it. If you have an established account it doesnt affect it.

When Marie bought something for me recently I asked her if she could leave feedback for me soonest as they wouldnt release the funds. She did this for me but alot of people I would imagine dont get that help from their buyers, especcially if they are buyers that see some way possibly of getting some money back or something like that! Its a terrible system theyve made with ebay - all for the buyer and nothing really for the seller.

dollchitchat/AddEmoticons07628.gif All I know is that I'm sick of it all

I have ALWAYS paid within seconds by paypal on ALL my purchases

Never had any trouble...our feedback is 100%

But since the recent changes (which has affected me only last week on my last item I sold)
I have had nothing but trouble
I myself have £70 being held for 3 weeks before they release payment to me

And now the seller of my new baby is not getting paid until I leave feedback

I think it is what I put in my other post....ebays new rules are that if you are newish to ebay like me and have less than 100 transactions (note transactions not feedback as ours is 100% feedback on 76 transactions) they can if they feel like it keep your money 'pending' as they put it!

The seller of my baby only has 70 odd transactions too.

It seems to be random, they are picking out random people to annoy...this is sooo apparent if you look at the ebay community help boards, The members on there tearing their hair out about this very thing!

I have looked at ebay and paypals own need help pages..and I think my money is being held because I sold my daughters meal replacement shakes last week...they sold within 10 minutes and the buyer paid immediately...the auction disappeared from my summary page...and eventually I was told you can't sell these on ebay (yet the product appeared on the drop down menu you can go on when you're doing your listing!)

They said I could keep the money in this instance but not to sell it again...and neither me or my buyer can leave feedback...hence I have to wait 3 weeks to make sure the buyer doesn't say he hasn't received the item.

I think the seller of my baby should get her payment released when I leave feedback

I also had all the hassle of paypal saying I had to become a business...which they eventually retracted

I tell you I have had several headaches this week!

Sorry this has been so long winded

It does depend on how many transactions you've had. They changed the rules 'quietly' - if you have 100 or less they hold the money for a period of time until the buyer is satisfied. I guess it's to stop unscrupulous sellers taking the money for an item they never owned in the first place and running with the money.

I bet Paypal are making a killing though, in interest dollchitchat/stick.gif

They would not hold your payment as you were the buyer - they withhold it from the seller until youve either left postive feedback or made a claim. Usually after around 21 days they release the money to the seller. If youve returned the items then the money will be coming back to you anyway which Paypal may release themselves if it is still on hold which it probably will be.

I now understand that this new rule must apply to those fairly new to PayPal - I've been with PayPal since 2001 (when it was only paypal.com!) and so have many transactions as a Seller...but STILL not as many as a buyer! dollchitchat/vdaybouncies3.gif

Its true about the money being on hold. I sold something on ebay last weds, and the money is still on hold even though the lady left me pos feedback. I have sent endless emails to paypal and still flippin waiting. But how can your sellers leave you pos feedback if they haven't even seen the item, daft if you ask me, grrrrrrrrrrrrrr. sorry girls, just venting, so glad this post was started.

With my fairly new account on ebay I had to wait a while for my funds to be released. I, like you complained bitterly to Paypal about having to wait even though the buyer had left positive feedback. I have noticed that it seems to come thru quicker now although Im using my more established ebay account as it doesnt hold my funds.
