I would just like to share some news from the hospital about my Nan who many of you have been praying for and sending me your wonderful support after she suffered a stroke early last week and because of her age and frailty we were told by the hospital to fear the worst.

She is to be moved from the stroke unit and onto a rehabilitation ward later today.
I really dont believe it is true, she just keeps fighting back and amazing us all again and again.

She is a lovely lady my nan, only about 5ft tall but with with the heart and fight of a lion. She is now swallowing solid foods, and able to sit out in a chair. Her speach is slowly returning and although at times she is still confused she does manage short sentences of conversation. She is of couse still very frail but has started to regain the feeling in her face and hand and can lift her leg slightly.

I am not sure what the overall outcome of all this will be but for now we are feeling hopeful once more that we for now at least have our darling back.
I just wanted to thank each and everyone of you for all your kind words and support which have helped me alot. I know that for someone as old and frail as she is this is only a respite and that we will be back at that sad place again, but for now it is enough and more than we ever though possible to be able to have her back with us. XXXX

awww Gail this is wonderful news and all i can say is your nan is one tough lady god bless her

Oh bless her Gail she is not ready to go yet. Your nan reminds me so much of my mum who I lost nearly 2 years ago and she is often in my thoughts.

Obviously she has a long way to go yet...but I feel so happy for you & proud of your little nan for being such a fighter & showing her strength yet again!

So glad to read you Nan is a bit better. She sound like my own Gran who went through the same thing and she was only 4ft 11ins tall. You know what they say great things come in small packages.
